BEE a Team Player!

Did you know, a hive of honeybees is made up of more than 50,000 bees? Every single bee in the hive has a different job, but each one has the same goal: keep the colony alive! You might think the Queen Bee is the most important, but she can't keep the colony alive by herself! She needs workers and drones to make the honey, feed the babies, and protect the hive from predators.

Cooperate means working together towards a common goal. Sometimes it means putting other’s needs or wants above your own. It is one of the most important things actors do when working on a show. Every person, from the ensemble to the lead plays a vital role in bringing the story to life. That's why we call theatre a collaborative art. It doesn't matter how big or small your part is. The story is better when everyone works together.

Putting someone’s needs above your own isn’t as easy as we think it is. What do you do when someone else gets the part you wanted? What if it’s a part you think you deserve or could do a better job with? Paul says to think of the other person as better than yourself. Look out for their interests. Keep the common goal in mind. Work together to tell the story and you just might find yourself surprised at how great it turns out to BEE!
